Minister of Environment, Manuel Pulgar-Vidal, met with Indigenous delegation from AIDESEP

Paris, December 7th.- The official delegation from AIDESEP, met with the Minister of Environment, Manuel Pulgar-Vidal, to present the proposals from Amazonian Indigenous Peoples to address climate change and ensure the survival of forests. Representatives such as Henderson Rengifo, Jaime Tapullima, Jorge Perez Rubio, among other members of the delegation, expressed the importance of these proposals for the States.

The Minister stressed the important role of indigenous communities in the adaptation and mitigation of climate change; as well as its key role in the conservation of natural resources. He also welcomed that since the Lima COP20 the participation of indigenous peoples of the world is more taken into account and that the initiative to facilitate an Indigenous Pavilion has been repeated in the Paris COP21.
