Tomorrow is the Action Day at the COP21. Here are the details!


At the COP20  in December 2014 in Lima, the Executive Secretary of the UNFCCC and the Presidency of the COP21 were encouraged to convene a high-level event to enhance implementation of climate action.

Answering this call and building on the catalysing effect of the United Nations Secretary-General’s Climate Summit of September 2014 and the work undertaken by Peru, France, the Executive Office of the United Nations Secretary-General and the UNFCCC, the Action Day highlights the existing momentum for scaled-up engagement by state and non-state actors and shows the necessity, feasibility and power of multi-stakeholder climate action.

The event will take place in Le Bourget, in the official zone of negotiations in Plenary Loire from 9:30 to 17:30, on the 5 December 2015. More than 1,300 stakeholders, states, companies, cities and subnationals, members of civil society and journalists will be in attendance.

Laurent Fabius, President of COP21; Christiana Figueres, UNFCCC Executive Secretary; Janos Pasztor, UN Assistant SecretaryGeneral on Climate Change, and Manuel Pulgar Vidal, Minister of Environment, Peru will open the event. And it will have special guests such us Al Gore, former United States Vice President and Nobel Peace Prize and Sean Penn, Founder, J/P Haitian Relief Organization.
