“We have all the conditions to make progress this week. Both the incoming French Presidency and the COP20 Peruvian Presidency bet for a transparent and inclusive process to reach an agreement in Paris”, pointed out Laurence Tubiana, special representative for the COP21, during the Welcoming cocktail, organized by France on the occasion of Bonn Climate Change Conference.

Tubiana stated that the meeting of the Ad-Hoc Working Group on the Durban Platform for Enhanced (ADP), which will gather negotiators in Bonn, Germany, from August 31 to September 4, is essential to make progress and share visions towards the expected climate agreement.

“It is not about agreeing on the minimum, it is much more than that. We are facing the world, and we have to achieve results. Political and civil society mobilizations are unprecedented. The world is looking at us, expecting that we achieve an ambitious, equitable and fair agreement. An agreement that will set the foundations for the future, and we can do it”, she pointed out.

The Peruvian Presidency attended the welcoming cocktail.
